The Moriones Festival 2013 Schedule of Activities which will guide the travelers and visitors to witness their authentic and colorful festival and many activities to follow during this holy week.

In the Island of Marinduque, they celebrate a very interesting Moriones festival that is themed from the Romans where they wear mask also known as a Morion as their costume to cover their faces as their armors.  This is a re-enactment of a folk-religious festival which tells a story of a Longinus who is a Roman centurion who has blinded in one eye. This is a seven day event which they march along the towns and in search for Longinus.

The main highlight of the festival is called the Pugutan, a theatrical presentation of the life of Longinus. A soldier who witness Jesus Christ crucifixion, where he sat beside him to check if he is dead, a drop of Jesus blood splashed to his face ad cured his sight.

This is a great stop during the holy week. A Tourist Spot in the Island of Marinduque that has a religious and very educational festival which everyone can witness the traditional ways of sacrificing.
