The Bravest and the greatest tattoo’s in Tacloban’s Pintados Festival is the much awaited fiesta in town City of Tacloban, Visayas the capital of Leyte province where it is the birth place of Pintados festival. They are famous in their festivals which people around the world come and take part in their feast. This came from the root word “Pintados” which means “the painted ones.”  This feast last for a month and this merry-making event includes the Pintados Kasadyaan festival, the Grand Parade, where all participants have painted their body with different colors.

The people from Visayas celebrate their ritualistic fiestas in a colorful and in a unique way. They celebrate the Pasangyaw Festival in the 29th of June. This is one of the unique festivals in the country and this is in honor to Sto. Nino.

History tells that their tattoo has a meaning. It symbolizes the bravery of a person. They had their tattoo after they have done a heroic thing, this presents how a person fought and won on a battle. This is their culture and custom and this is I honor of their gods.

Kasadyaan Festival

The Pintados Kasadyaan Festival showcases their native folk dances from the different participants from Leyte and Samar.

All the municipalities have joined in this grand celebration. This is the hallmark of the fiesta where they are all painted with tattoos as their primary costumes. During this season they all gather and make their town colorful and make their visitors enjoy the every moment in Pintados Festival.

Pintados Kasadyaan festival

The much awaited event of the festival is the Pagrayhak Grand Parade.  This is where all people flock on the streets, holding their cameras and video cameras and they are very excited for the show to start. Before it begins, each finds a comfortable place for them to view the parade. The Pagrayhak Grand Parade features all the native dances and their amazing tattoos in their body. Every tattoo has a meaning and it symbolizes well-being, values and leadership and respect.
